Nevada's most premier downhill mountain bike race series  Volunteer Program: For an event of this size many volunteers and paid workers are needed. Volunteers can work with a friend or by themselves. Course Marshals who sign up early get a voice in choosing their location which has proven to be very popular. Watch the race from the best possible vantage point! All Course Marshals and Registration Workers will be briefed with their responsibilities prior to the race and/or registration. Volunteer positions available during the event: 12 Course Marshals: Responsibilities include: Making sure the racer passes your designated location safely. 4 Registration workers: From 8:00 am till 2:00 pm on Friday and Saturday we could use some help to expedite the registration process. No previous experience required as you will be working with our trained registration staff. Results Runner: Responsibilities will be posting results on our posting board in the Tech/Expo area. 6 Timing Assistants: 1 person will be recording time of start at top. 1 person will be recording the order of start (# plate order at start). 1 person will be recording the order of finish (# plate order at finish). 1 person will be recording time of finish at bottom. 1 person will be our "spotter" that will let timers know what number is coming to finish. 1 person will act as our "catch" so as a person that crosses the line w/out a #plate or some sort, we can still collect that racers data to apply their appropriate time. Please call 518-524-9805 for details, hours and responsibilities. 2 Awards Ceremony Staff Workers: Responsibilities include: Preparing prizes and medals prior to the Awards Ceremony. 2 persons making sure water buckets are full at shuttle pick up & DH start each day. Volunteer positions available before and after the event: Helpers with course set up and course tear down.
